CRPS Progression

CRPS generally starts in one limb or localized area with or without an initial injury. Over time, painful CRPS symptoms can worsen and spread to other parts of the body.

CRPS progression can also lead to complications and excessive damage to the musculoskeletal systems, including the bones and muscles. Patients demonstrate decreased flexibility and may exhibit abnormal movement in of the limbs.

Patients may demonstrate bone mineral loss and muscle atrophy. Excessive inflammation combined with poor circulation significantly increases the likelihood of muscle damage. These muscles may contract if left untreated.
